It is an interesting statement. You think its true right? When you go around the country campaigning for office you cant just make stuff up. I like Obama saying this. I am not sure how effective it will be but i have the feeling it will be very effective. It is the basic assertion that McCain and the GOP are liars. It has the added benefit of being true. Here is Obama speaking about Sarah Palin on Saturday,
"I know the governor of Alaska has been, you know, saying she is change," Obama said. "And that is great. She is a skillful politician. But when you've been taking all these earmarks when it is convenient and then suddenly you are the champion anti-earmark person, that's not change, come on!" Obama said. "I mean, words mean something. You can't just make stuff up. You can't just make stuff up. We have a choice to make and the choice is clear."
It is a very simple, easily understood assertion. It also has a bit of a mocking quality to it. It also puts pressure on those covering Obama to explain exactly what he is talking about. If Obama is right and you cant just make stuff up then McCain and Palin are in trouble.
